Adult Choir

The choir (and practices) will return in September.

A choir for adults of all ages meets on Wednesday evenings at 7 p.m. to practice.  The choir shares their wonderful music during worship on most Sundays except during the summer months.  Practices are open to all; no auditions are necessary.   Accompaniment is provided by Anita Nartker on the organ and Judy Metcalf on the piano.   If you would like to share your talent for singing, please join us.

Isabella County Restoration House

ICRHAs has become normal for the Shepherd UMC, we helped support the ICRH Homeless Shelter the week of Thanksgiving, November 20 -27, 2016 and again February 12 -18, 2017.   The shelter residents were  housed in the Central Michigan Free Methodist Church.  We were blessed to be able to  provide and serve food, interact with shelter guests, “chaperone” overnight,  and clean-up after guests departed in the morning.  As soon as plans are announced for the 2017-18 season, we will be making our plans for participating.

For more information about ICRH, visit their Facebook page at Facebook/ICRHouse.

Nutrition Club

The nutrition effort will resume when school starts again the end of August.

The  need for transporting food bags from Mt. Pleasant to Shepherd continues.  These bags are then distributed to children who could benefit from extra and  convenient food over the weekends.

The volunteer effort required is picking up about 100 plastic grocery bags at Kinney School off Pickard Street  in Mt. Pleasant at 3 pm every other Thursday and transporting them directly to Shepherd Elementary.  It take approximately 1 hour to complete this task, the strength to carry several bags at once and a vehicle.

If you would like to be added to the schedule, please contact  Arnie Hammel at 989-828-5415.  Thanks for making an impact on the children of the community.

For more information about the program, see 2013 news article in The Morning Sun.  Nutrition Club
